Computer Resources

The groups in the Department of Biophysics and Biophysical Chemistry share a departmental computing facility staffed by a full-time systems manager. The equipment includes a 30 node GNU/Linux cluster. Each node contains two 64 bit Opteron processors and there are also 5 computational workstations containing 4 Opteron CPUs each. Our file servers have a combined capacity of 3.9 terabytes, and we have a second cluster comprising 8 CPUs for email and computational work. Addtionally, there are over 24 workstations, a Tektronix Phaser 740 color laser printer, several black and white laser printers, and an HP 4650dn Color LaserJet printer.
