Aging of a new 0.3mm filament
| For each increase in voltage (yellow
background in the table below), the current
must be
dropped to the new lower value before the voltage is increased (yellow bars in table). |
| The following times are minimum times.
If the vacuum has not decreased to a reasonable level (~80-85mV on the
voltmeter/vacuum gauge) or to the level reached at the previous
voltage/current setting, then it is better to wait before increasing the
voltage or current further. The better the vacuum is, the longer the
filament life will be. |
