Always check for warning lamps and if one is illuminated then record it in the notebook for that X-ray set!

    RU200 and RU-H3R Generators

    No X-rays

    1. Check for warning lamps
      • FC: implies burnt filament
      • CW: implies inadequate cooling water flow
      • OLL: implies an overload problem -- common during filament aging and usually can just be restarted
    2. Check the voltage and current meters
      • On the two older generators (denali and tick), if there is voltage but zero current, then it is likely that the filament has blown
      • On the newest generator (flea), both meters will indicate 0 when the filament has burnt out
      • If no voltage or current, check for X-ray ready lamp on front panel and on light pole (flea)
        • If ready lamp is not on
          1. Try starting target rotation (TR or T-REV)
          2. Check for burnt out X-ray warning lamps on the front panel and on the generator table top, or "Christmas tree" (light pole)
      • Check for TMP operation
      • Check for water flow problems

    R-Axis Detectors and software

    1. RS232C timeout warning message
      • Check that the phi axis has been set to the locked position
    2. SCSI error
      • Shut down R-Axis controller and software and then restart
